In July 2012, a group of twenty-two people from Christ Community Church (East Taunton, Massachusetts) spent a week volunteering with Corazón de Esperanza.  The team did a number of activities in a small village outside of Trujillo.  They held a Vacation Bible School for the children and assisted in teaching knitting projects to the women.  The team also cleared the land at the Luz de Vida building site.  The team transformed the site from a massive piles of dirt, broken bricks, and trash to smooth, level ground ready for construction.  The team also did work projects and activities with the children at a government-run orphanage in Trujillo.
