For his whole life, he has had difficulty breathing and suffered from frequent headaches due to this injury. He is unable to breath normally. As he has gotten older, his trouble with breathing has gotten worse. Last week, the Luz de Vida transitional home received their second annual donation of 3,000 pairs of Tom’s Shoes. Luz de Vida has been chosen to be the coordinator for the distribution of Tom’s shoes in the northern region of Peru. The staff at Luz de Vida will distribute these shoes to children in orphanages and poor villages in northern Peru. We are grateful for this incredible opportunity to build connections with other organizations in the community and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Christ Community Church of Taunton, Massachusetts
The Christ Community Church (CCC) Mission’s team from Taunton, Massachusetts had an amazing week at the Luz de Vida transitional home! They worked incredibly hard and went above and beyond. They carried bricks and buckets of water, mixed cement, and laid bricks to build a room for the “Mujeres Virtuosas” project in Huanchaco. They also had a great time with the youth throughout the week. The team enjoyed spending three afternoons/evenings going through a Bible study with the youth called “Multiply” (by Francis Chan). It was exciting to see the youth engaged in the study and hear them share their thoughts with everyone. A few them are already thinking of ways to reach out to their own communities.
