About the Event

The Power of the Purse is a one-of-a-kind event in the Vail Valley. This brunch, auction, and purse-shopping event is the perfect social outing, featuring items from local vendors and a wide assortment of like-new purses, including vintage and designer handbags, wallets, and backpacks at deeply discounted prices. Live auction for the best of the best and you can purchase raffle tickets to enter the raffle for a variety of amazing gifts.  (we have TONS of great items – not just purses.)

September 6th, 2025 – 10:30am – 1pm at Edwards Interfaith Chapel Community Center 

Participants will be impacting and bringing change to young women in Perú, many of whom are victims of human trafficking, abuse, and abandonment. 100% of donations, tickets, and sales benefit girls in Perú by providing education and empowerment programs through Corazón de Esperanza.

Donate or Collect Purses

Bring your gently used purses, backpacks, and wallets to one of our collection sites, or ship them to Corazon de Esperanza.  If you have a donation, please drop it off at one of the locations or email info@cdehope.org for more information.  If you would like to be a collection site, please let us know!  Your donations help make the event a great success and provide education to girls in Perú.

Donated new and used purses, backpacks, and wallets will be collected through August 20th, 2024 and can be dropped off at our office in Gypsum, Colorado or at one of our collection hosts.

Sponsor the Event

A sponsor is a great way to get involved in a community event and promote your business. Most importantly, the event gives people the opportunity to make an impact globally. Your business can provide education and empowerment to girls living in extreme poverty in Perú. Through your sponsorship, you also give youth and adults from our community the opportunity to be a part of changing lives. Power of the Purse attracts participants from around the valley and donors from around the state, allowing local involvement and future opportunities to volunteer globally.

As a sponsor, you will be recognized across event promotional marketing, including Vail Daily ads, local radio spots, social media, the Corazón de Esperanza website, email blasts, and more. Day-of-event opportunities include a name or logo on the big screen and in the event program.
