University Entrance Exams
Angel is one of four youths who have been studying the last 6 months in preparation for the entrance exam at the National University of Trujillo, Peru. Angel, Maria, Carolay and Liceth were each sponsored for 2 cycles of study at the Kepler Prepatory School. They spent weks and weeks in classes, many evenings with tutors and hours studying to prepare for this weekend. They will sit along side 300 students, who are competing with them for only 8 vacancies for each area of study. The National University provides free classes (not including books and materials) for those students who receive the highest scores on the entrance exams.
All four students will be the first in their families to go to college. What do our teens want to be when they grow up? Here are the areas of study they are applying for – first and second choices:
- Angel – Admistration or Economics
- Yamelit – Languages or Tourism
- Liceth – Engineering or Agricultural Science
- Carolay – Tourism or Language
