We Own Land!
Corazon de Esperanza has finally purchased a piece of property in Trujillo, Peru to contruct a building for the youth transitional home, Hogar Luz de Vida! The land is located near downtown and is close to several universities and businesses, giving our youths a wonderful opportunity to study and work. We are so thankful to those who have donated to make the purchase possible. An architect is working on the design for our building as we continue to raise funds to begin construction.
This past week, one of our board members, Heather Giezendanner, and her husband, Mathias, met with the staff and youth to commemorate the new ownership by painting the Hogar Luz de Vida logo on the property wall! Gloria a Dios!!

Cooking Classes
The staff at the transitional home (Luz de Vida) are spending two mornings a week in a small village near Huanchaco, Peru. They are working with low-income women to assist them in learning various skills that they can use to care for their families. The staff recently discovered that the women wanted to learn how to cook. The women have begun meeting every Monday and Friday for a devotional and cooking class. The women learned how to make “Arroz con Pollo” and the children, of course, enjoyed sampling the food too! Currently, we are borrowing a portable stove for the classes, but we are in need of our own stove. The cost to purchase a new stove is 150 dollars. Rent to Start
We are renting a building from an organization in Peru called Amor en Acción. This agreement will help us to start our youth transitional home project, Hogar Luz de Vida and make it a reality! A few of our teens in Peru were able to experience this for the first time this past Saturday when they joined together for worship and fellowship.
